What was the issue with kernel 6.5.0-44?

What was the issue with kernel 6.5.0-44 that required such a quick update to 6.5.0-45? It was working fine for me (I run it on several HP EliteDesk, a Lenovo T480 and two DELL machines, and all was fine)

The update from kernel 6.5.0-44 to 6.5.0-45 was necessitated by critical boot issues that affected several users. These issues, particularly noted in Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, caused systems to fail to boot properly, leaving users with black screens or stuck on the boot process. The quick release of 6.5.0-45 aimed to resolve these stability problems and ensure smoother system performance and reliability

Thanks for the quick and informative reply. One more question though: Is it possible that the change influenced the way in which additional SSDs are mounted? Before the new kernel, my second SSD was mounted to /media/<name_of_user>/<name_of_disk>
Now I find the same disk mounted to /mnt/<name_of_disk> without me making changes.

yes , changes in the kernel or system updates can influence the way additional SSDs are mounted.
