Whatsapp desktop client

been using the whatsapp web client all the time , till i discovered this

i used option 2
seems to work perfectly so far ,opens immediately and doesn't take forever to load chats like with whatsapp web.
opinions on this desktop client ? is it safe ?

It seems to be a webapp that basically loads whatsapp web. It should be safe, but I can't confirm anything, as I haven't used it myself nor looked through the code. It's open source, so that would make it less likely to be malicious, if that helps.

What browser were you using whatsapp web on?

brave

I use Zap Zap Flatpack on Zorin OS and it runs great.

As I answered on a previous thread for this topic, after bouncing around several 3rd party clients (which are all just electron "apps" loading web.whatsapp.com anyway) I settled on using ungoogled-chromium to "install" WhatsApp as a PWA.

By using separate profiles, you can "install" just about any website you want as an "app", each with separate cookies, history, extensions, etc., so it's quite good for privacy, and you only have to trust the rather renowned ungoogled-chromium instead of various random people making unofficial programs for WhatsApp, Spotify, Netflix, etc.

yea i get what you saying , saw now that only reason it opens instantly , is cause the "app" stays open in my panel / background . If i quit it in panel and open again it takes the same time to load everything like the web version.
guess i got to excited to quick over a "whatsapp desktop client"
lol
ah well , deleting that thing . Not really using whatsapp on pc anyway.
