When I change the resolution of screen causes unmapping of the desktop

Hello everybody,

I use the following Zorin:

NAME="Zorin OS"
VERSION="16.1"
ID=zorin
ID_LIKE=ubuntu
PRETTY_NAME="Zorin OS 16.1"
VERSION_ID="16"
HOME_URL="Zorin OS - Make your computer better."
SUPPORT_URL="https://help.zorin.com/"
BUG_REPORT_URL="Send Feedback - Zorin OS"
PRIVACY_POLICY_URL="Privacy Policy - Zorin"
VERSION_CODENAME=focal
UBUNTU_CODENAME=focal

In my classroom I have a projector. It changes my default resolution.

I fix it with the following commands:

xrandr --output HDMI-1 --mode 1280x720
xrandr --output HDMI-2 --mode 1280x720

But it provokes that the desktop is misconfigured

Please watch the images:

How can I reset the desktop but with the new resolution?

Thanks in advance! :smiley:

Your profile says "Zorin OS: Education"
Education comes in two varieties: Gnome and XFCE.
Can you please clarify which you are using? (The image looks like Gnome, to me...)

Actually, I wonder if there would be a way of preventing the projector from changing your resolution...
Are you disconnecting the Monitor from HDMI 1 and then connecting HDMI 1 to the projector?
