Which directories should I be backing up?

I use iDrive for cloud backup and am just getting it set up on zorin.

Aside from my home directory, what other directories is it advisable to backup?

I'm still not entirely au-fait with what all the linux directories do.

The other directories is System directories, there's no need to back'em up.

I should add, make sure you also have the hidden files backed up. IF you want to save your configurations.

To view hidden files you need to press Ctrl+ H. If you want to make a complete system backup I would use Rescuezilla and backup to an external drive.

yeah, they're backed up, but thanks for the pointer

I've got timeshift making regular backups local. I did look at back those up to the cloud too but they're really big so I'll probably hold off on that one.

You can't format file systems used by your Cloud provider!

Using IDrive on your Linux, you can backup all the core directories that contain critical data.

Also, you can connect and mount the external hard drives / Network share drives to your Linux machine and backup the data to IDrive.
