Which updates affect an Nvidia graphics card that runs on Nouveau?

My Nvidia 5200m runs with the Nouveau driver.
Which updates have a direct impact on the function of the graphics card or the interaction between Intel and Nvidia in Optimus technology? Does Optimus work at all with Nouveau?

Are these only kernel updates and linux firmware updates, or are there also other ones (beside BIOS updates made in Windows)?

Should be Kernel Updates because You don't use the additional Nvidia Drivers. With linux-firmware I'm not sure but I wouldn't think this should affect it.
