Hi, I have to setup VMs with RDC service.
My Specs, are

I going to install vmware workstation pro 17 on this device.
So. I wanna know. How many VMs i can create using Zorin OS.
Which zorin OS version i should use.?

any suggestion? Thanks,

No limits.

use the core version, you can run a lot of vms with all that team. have fun!

I think, I short my question. I want to install windows Os at the above spec device. then, I have to create VMs

Welcome to the Forum!

I don't know if VMWare has a Limit but on Zorin, You have in Theory the following Options:

  • Zorin Core
  • Zorin Lite
  • Zorin Education
  • Zorin Pro (Paid Version)

I think, it would be enough to install Zorin Core and Lite. so, You see and can try what Zorin has made with the Gnome Desktop (Zorin Core) and with the xfce Desktop (Zorin Lite).

Theoretically, You wouldn't even need to install 2 seperate Zorin System's for that. You could for example set up Zorin Core and install the Zorin Lite Desktop and switch on the Login Screen between both.

I got that. I think , I need to try that thing. How many VMs i can create and manage with Zorin Lite OS, Concurrently on above specs.

It will entirely depend on how beefy those VMs are.

If you intend to make any serious use of the hardware with the purpose of spawning VMs, I'd suggest going headless (without any graphical environment at all) to make the most out of the resources available.
For that, however, I'd recommend using a different distribution better suited for that purpose: Ubuntu Server, Debian, Alma Linux...

But in any case, the most limiting factor is going to be the CPU cores, not the RAM, since you'll have to allocate at least one core to each VM. How much RAM will you need per VM will also depend on what you're going to be using it for.

Just try it, and see what happens!
