Why so complicate to install audacious 4.4.?

Hi,
who can help me with install audacious 4.4. ?
So i'm a newbie.
And i'm really frustrated. Because zorin is already cool, but installing things? hhmm..
If i use a chatgpt complete script for installing version 4.4. - the terminal windows closed. nothing happend.
I reset zorin os 18 already so - but nothing better.

who can help?

PS: i want the really near skin of winamp - and i saw a youtube video about audacious 4.4. which has it - for example.

Why 4.4? 4.5.1 is available via software center.

Or by command:
flatpak install flathub org.atheme.audacious

hi storm, i know - but its really impossible for me - to bring it to the simple winamp skin. I can choose it on the 4.5. version.. but nothing happend :frowning: - so i worked on the half sunday for testings and fixings..

How to get the Classic Skin

  1. Install Audacious via your terminal (e.g., sudo apt install audacious).
  2. Download Winamp Classic skins (WSZ files) from sites like the Winamp Skin Museum.
  3. Open Audacious settings and change the interface to "Winamp Classic".
  4. Copy the downloaded skin files into ~/.local/share/audacious/Skins/.

The location where to put the winamp skin is different for flatpaks, may trying first with the .deb/zorin package?
sudo apt install audacious

Than put the winamp file in ~/.local/share/audacious/Skins/
Note the dot infront of local? It means it's hidden folder, you can set the file browser to see hidden files. Also Linux is case sensitive.

Version 4.3:
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/a/audacious/audacious_4.3.1-2.1build2_amd64.deb

BUT, you can install it on Zorin OS 18 easily:

sudo apt install audacious

Which is the version 4.3 above. ChatGPT is... wrong. You do not need any special script, Flatpak or other nonsense.
Nothing about it is complicated.

Gnome Software Store and ChatGPT are what is complicated.
