Wifi Adapter Disappears on Switching From Windows

For context, I have my laptop's battery taken out so my laptop runs entirely on direct power supply. This resets the CMOS every time I cut the power.

I have noticed that after a CMOS reset, Zorin works fine and shows the adapter as intended. However, the moment I switch to Windows and come back, the adapter vanishes. I can in no way bring it back unless I cut the power again and reset the CMOS.

I'm not sure if this is a hardware limitation. The problem seems to be my Windows 11.

For now, I have the workaround but I wanted to let the forum know what I had observed.

Hello, did you try to disable fast boot in Windows 11 ?

  • Are Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS disabled?
  • Does Your BIOS is in UEFI Mode or Legacy?
  • Is Your System run in Wayland or X11? You can check that with the Terminal Command echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

Does this set back the BIOS Settings to default, too?
