Wifi Adapter stops working after 40 minutes

I recently purchased an intel nuc D34010WYKH, that had an additional wifi card installed (Intel Advanced-N 6235), and after installing Zorin, every 40 minutes or so, the wifi adapter will stop working, and only start working if I restart the nuc. The only fix i've attempted is changing
/etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-wifi-powersave-on.conf to 2, disabled manually.

Any help would be appreciated.

The next time that happens, rather than rebooting, try:

sudo systemctl restart network-manager

That'll help us narrow down the issue.

Also, assuming you're using DHCP... what do you have your router DHCP lease time set to? It's usually set to 24 hours, but check just to be sure its not ~40 minutes. May be that your card's not picking up a new IP address when the DHCP lease expires. Easiest fix for that is to set your NUC WiFi card to a static LAN IP address.

Sounds like an overheating issue. You may have to crack the case, clean out any dust bunnies and ensure the fans are working. Try a laptop cooling table.
