I'm able to connect to wifi and bluetooth but why are the icons gray, and how to make them normal?

Is there any physical switch for network on the machine?

If you have the bluetooth drivers installed on the system, and AIRPLANE mode is NOT enabled on the OS, then the only other explanations available are......
Hardware WIFI/BLUETOOTH switch is turned off on the notebook.
Wireless adapter has failed and needs replaced.
