Will Zorin OS pro recognize my laptop's different touchscreen/tablet modes?

Hi everyone. I am a bit of a linux newbie and I want to purchase Zorin OS pro for art purposes. I bought an art laptop that currently runs on windows 11, but honestly i dont like windows 11 at all but I need to keep it for uni. My laptop is touchscreen and has different tablet like modes, will Zorin Pro recognize these modes or would they only be available on windows? The laptop is this lenovo yoga 7i 2in1 gen 9. And also can I keep windows 11 and also be able to boot on Zorin OS when I want to? If yes, any advice on doing so? Please tell me if my questions are clear or not. Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help me!

Welcome to the Forum!

Yes, You can keep Windows. You can create a so-called Dual-Boot System. then You have Windows and Zorin on Your Machine.

To do that, You should take Care about a couple of Things:

  • Turn off Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS
  • Turn Off Fast Start-Up in Windows
  • Check if Your BIOS is in UEFI or Legacy Mode
  • Because You are on Windows, I would suggest to take the Tool Rufus to create the bootable USB Stick. Depending if You BIOS is in UEFI or Legacy Mode, You should choose there on the Point ''Partition Sheme'' GPT for UEFI or MBR for Legacy.
  • When You have downloaded the Zorin OS ISO verify the Checksum like explained here:
Check the Integrity of Your Copy of Zorin OS - Zorin Help

When You start the USB Stick and You install Zorin choose durcing the Installation Process the Option ''Install Zorin alongside Windows''. There You can choose how many Disk Space You want use for Zorin and all the other Stuff makes the Installer automatically.

Thank you!

For Your Situation with the Modes: You can try to test it. You start Zorin OS on the USB Stick and choose the ''Try Zorin'' Mode. This will not install the OS. It will work from the USB Stick. Because of that the Performance might not be the best but You can try if it works.
