Will Zorin Pro run on a HP Windows 11 Desktop, the AI-Omni Desk 16L

Hello everyone, I'm new to Linux and preparing to load Zorin Pro 17 or the new release of 18 in a couple of weeks. I've seen comments that Linux cannot operate correctly on HP laptops well and wondered if this is true of HP desktops with AI. Trying to get away from Windows 11 and AI but not sure if this desktop is compatible with Linux? I have loaded a couple of much older computers (ASUS Laptop and Lenovo Desktop) with Pro 17 and did not have any issues. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Welcome to the Forum!

One Question would be: How up-to-date is the Hardware of Your HP Machine? Depending on that, it could be neccessary to install a newer Kernel.

To test if it runs, You can put Zorin 17 and 18 on a USB Stick, start it and run the Try Zorin Mode and see if it runs. That would be a practical easy first Thing to do.

Disable Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS and Fast Start-Up in Windows to avoid Issues.

Thank you!
My HP is brand new only a couple of months old. I don't use it much and haven't loaded much on it because of the AI stuff but I would like to take advantage of the updated Intel processor and Ram.
I totally forgot about the "Try Zorin Mode" thank you for reminding me of that and I'll give that a try. Thank you for taking the time to respond and your help!

When there is a NPU (Neural Processing Unit) in the CPU and You don't use it, there doesn't happen anything. So, You don't need to care about it. Use it like a normal Laptop.

Then it could be neccessary to install a newer Kernel but try it first and then You will see. For the Case, here are Instructions to install a newer Kernel:

Thank you for all of this, really helpful, I really appreciate it!
I'll be trying this out soon.
