I'm trying to dual boot install Linux for the first time and did all the install steps on a flash drive and I saw the option to dual boot, but then I was stopped because bitlocker was on in windows, so I turned that off and tried the install again buy this time the dual boot option is gone
I only have one drive on the computer and I confirmed it was basic and not dynamic and the drive has 150gb, I dint know if one of these could be the problem or not but that's pretty much all I know
Personally (but I'm a newbie) for a dual-boot with Windows I recommend this guide: Dual Boot Zorin OS and Windows A Step-by-Step Guide :: IT'S FOSS
It has worked for me on 3 computers already (win 10 + Zorin 18). It is very important to read the whole guide entirely and make sure you understand all instructions before starting the process. It requires to do some stuff in windows first.
Good luck and let us know if you have any problems with these steps!
Agree with @Ponce-De-Leon suggestions but also wonder whether there is anything useful under "advanced options" link shown under the erase and install option. Bitlocker seems to create many problems as evidenced in this forum.
First time I've heard of the installer acknowledging the existence of windows boot manager but not suggesting a dual boot. That suggests it isn't a legacy vs UEFI mismatch. You should be able to do a dual boot using the something else option, however.
