My common Plan was to wait until October next Year when the Support for Windows 10 ends to delete it from my System. But the Universe had other Plans.
I simply wanted to update Windows a bit (System Updates, Driver, Software). But the System didn't run pretty well anymore. And the Updates didn't help. It was all slow and not very smooth. So, I was annoyed. Then I though ''Okay, weg mit dem Mist!''
A very emotional Reaction. Not the best Way to decide something, I know. But I did it. I packed Zorin Core 17.2 on a USB Stick, safed my Data and ... let's go! And now I am Zorin-only.
After Decades of Windows now begins the Time with Linux only. To be honest, I thought, I would have ... how can I say that ... the Feeling of a big Moment of this. But I hadn't. That surprised me a bit. But I guess, that comes from the more and more bad Experience with Windows.
lol , very proud of you
couple years back when i decided enough of windows , i installed Linux only , and learned the hard way , diving into the deep end
Well, its about time @Ponce-De-Leon and not a moment too soon, as now Windows 11 is going hyperactive with their snoopware, Microsoft let us all know where their loyalties lie, and it aint with us!
Welcome... You have chosen to re-locate to one of our finest Linux operating systems, Zorin OS 17. Many years ago, when I made the switch, it was when Windows 7 was reaching end of life. I loved Zorin OS so much, I made it my home, in one of our finest community centers, Zorin forum.
Oh sure, I've tried a few other Linux distro's since then, but I ended up coming back to Zorin OS, its the best distro for me, and doesn't require a collage degree to operate it. Its a great distro, that lets you do just about everything with your computer.
No Linux distro is perfect, but IMO, Zorin OS is just about as perfect as they come. So again, with great warmth of the heart, welcome to Zorin OS, life is sweeter here.
I can only agree with @StarTreker Startrekker, Zorin OS is also the best Linux disposition for me. I have also tried it before and only Zorin OS has managed to make me delete Windows 11 completely.
And I hope Zorin continues to develop just as positively, thank you, @AZorin , for this work.
That decision was made for me when 3 months ago I accidentally some how formatted my Win 10 drive ..... I now run Zorin 17.2 and Mint dual boot and never looked back .....
Rufus
It is for me a really good Tool to create a bootable USB Stick. Yes, there are Alternatives. And they are okay. But I find it sad, that there doesn't exist a Linux Version. An AppImage would be enough.
Benchmark Tools
I liked to use Tools like AIDA64, Cinebench, 3D Mark, Superposition Benchmark or Furmark to test CPU and GPU Clocks and Voltages. At least 3D Mark should get a Linux Version if I informed correctly.
Best your going to get for benchmarking on Linux is System Profiler. The benchmarking section of the info software, pails in comparison, to the apps you mentioned. Sadly, Linux does not get much support for those kind of apps. Maybe one day that will change
