WWAN Modem Not Connecting on Zorin 17, Works Perfectly on Zorin 16
I've been trying to get my WWAN modem (HP lt4111 LTE/EV-DO/HSPA+ Gobi 4G Module) working on Zorin 17 for about a week now. What’s odd is that it works perfectly on Zorin 16.
Testing:
Zorin 16: When I do a live boot of Zorin 16, all I have to do is enter the APN information, and the modem connects without any issues.
Zorin 17: When I do a live boot of Zorin 17, even after entering the APN information, the modem does not connect.
What I’ve Tried:
Checking Drivers and Firmware: I’ve compared the drivers and firmware versions between Zorin 16 and 17, but haven’t found any significant differences that would explain the issue.
ModemManager and NetworkManager: Restarted and reconfigured these services, but the modem still fails to connect on Zorin 17.
Logs: I’ve checked system logs and noticed some errors like "Broken pipe" and "PCIe Bus Error" when trying to connect the modem on Zorin 17.
Has anyone else encountered this issue with Zorin 17, or does anyone have suggestions for troubleshooting further? Could this be related to changes in the kernel or drivers between versions?
