XScreensaver won't start on login

I really like the slide show function of XScreensaver. However I have not been able to get it to auto start after logging in. I tried to use the Startup app but when I browse for the proper command I can only find under Home a file that is .xscreensaver. Adding that to the start up app doesn't seem to do anything. I can manually start the XScreensaver app and it works fine. Does anyone know what command I need to put in the Startup app to get XScreensaver to automatically start?

Either
xscreensaver

or
xscreensaver -no-splash

should work as the Exec command.
