So a few days ago i installed Zorin OS 17 Core on my MS Surface GO 2. It looked pretty good, until i chose "Install Zorin OS alongside Windows Boot Managers" (dual boot). When i pressed "Install" when choosing how much space i want to choose for Zorin. After i pressed install it just installed zorin. After a few minutes a message popped up with "your bootloader most likely be broken". It said my bootloader is maybe broken and might not work correctly. I know my bootloader is working just fine tho. I pressed "Try Again" cuz its working. After i pressed it a lot of error messages popped up and just kept going. I couldnt shut my surface down, not even force shutdown. I waited 2 days for it to run out of power. After i rebooted it, it showed me the blue screen of death. Always it restarted it just showed me blue screen of death. Since im no professional idk what happened and how i can fix it. I did try boot into recovery options to factory reset the pc but since the surface go 2 is insanely hard to get to boot something else thats not windows boot mgr it didnt work since u need to boot a usb via windows. I really hope smn could help me out.
Hi and welcome. Your scenario is what I posted about on another thread. In terms of Surface device, on searching it states the best option is to wipe Windows completely. Can you boot into Windows at all?
Welcome to the Forum! If You still have Zorin on an USB Stick start it and choose the ''Try Zorin'' Mode. In this Live Mode, look for Boot Repair and let it run.
Also take a look here:
No, i can't. I only get the BSOD.
I mean it would help with other devices but since the GO 2 is insanely hard to get booting without Win10/11 since it needs to go through "Advanced Recovery". But still thanks though.
