Z18 Core freezing after install, Z18 Core Live not

Hi,
after installing Z18 Core, the hole PC freezes after opening an Application containing graphic elements. For example Brave, Chromium, Inkscape, GIMP etc.
The screen shows garbage graphic within the opened Application an then freezes.
I have used the default installation settings

USB Stick was prepared on macOS 26 with balenaEtcher (which works fine). I'm using it for all my preparings.
I tried Linux Mint 22.2, Debian 13 and Z17 Pro, which all are working fine.

My Hardware:

  • HP Elitedesk 800 G3 TWR
  • CPU is an Intel i7-7700k
  • GPU is an AMD Radeon R7-4xx
  • RAM is 32 GB
  • NVMe Transcend 512 GB
  • Secure Boot is activated
  • UEFI is active

I tried to switch to the internal Graphics Card in the BIOS (256 MB & 512 MB tested), but unfortunately with the same result.

As far as I know, there is no support for AMD Radeon R7-4xx Graphic Cards for Linux. But anyway, I'm not sure that this is GPU related.

Any help?

Try it with disabled Secure Boot.

Hi,
the problem has been fixed.
The cause was that it was not enough to disable the AMD Radeon GPU in the BIOS (disabling the slot); it also had to be physically removed. Since then, Z18 has been working perfectly with the internal graphics chips.
