I had a brostrend ac5l and it worked just fine. When I upgraded to Zorin 17, now the pc doesn't recognize the wifi
I have sudo apt updated, even the brostrend tech helpers have no idea what to do.
I am not knowledgeable about terminal code. I love zorin but I'm in over my head.
I downloaded the driver file as well but have no idea how to install it
Their support page claim that drivers for AC5L should work out of the box with the native drivers, but they have developed their own drivers for better performance:
Have you been in contact with their support? What have you tried?
If you updated from Zorin OS 16, and you installed additional drivers there, it's possible they are no longer compatible with the new system. Perhaps try to remove those entirely first.
Some additional information that will come in handy later, if you could run this in a terminal window:
lshw -C network
Okay, so it wasn't working. I took a nap, woke up, and was magically connected. I'm so confused but thankful.
