Hi, I am getting used to handle several workspaces, which I find great (I work with 3 monitors in my Win Laptop). I am setting up what should be where, as I usually keep several things open at the same time.
Is there a way to move an application from Workspace 1 to Workspace 4 for example? I only find "move it to workspace to the right" which is slow. Can I do something to move directly from Wkspc 1 to Wkspc 4?
On Zorin OS Pro Lite and Zorin OS Lite, right clicking the window button, a user can select Move to workspace right
or Move to another workspace
with a menu arrow that has a drop down list of the available workspaces.
Is this not the case on Core and Pro?
Hi Aravisian, I dont know if I should be doing something I am not doing. I have recorded my interaction with the windows to clarify: Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording Software | Loom
Perhaps I am not doing something I should be doing.
It is not you, Otto, it appears that Gnome lacks that feature.
Zorin OS Lite uses XFCE
Desktop Environment. Zorin OS Core uses the Gnome
Desktop Environment.
In order to select the workspace per window in Gnome D.E., a user can drag and drop a window onto the preferred workspace in the Activities Overview.
Or, using keyboard shortcuts, a user can switch between workspaces using Super+Page Up or Ctrl+Alt+Up and Super+Page Down or Ctrl+Alt+Down
If you left click and hold a window when using the above shortcuts, it will drag that window. Releasing the left click will drop it in the workspace that you shortcut to.
I needed to look into this further since I am a Zorin OS Lite user.
Hi Aravisian, thank you for all your help. I was finally able to do it with my OS 17 Pro and wanted to contribute to the Forum's knowledge by sharing how I did it. Of course, after reading carefully your contribution, for which I am very grateful.
Here is the solution: Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording Software | Loom
