Hey everyone,
I’ve got Zorin 17 installed on an external SSD, which lets me boot into Zorin OS on any PC I plug it into—like having my computer with me wherever I go. It works perfectly on my main desktop, but when I tried using it on my Surface Go 3, it just gets stuck on the Windows 11 splash screen. I changed the boot order in the BIOS and even disabled secure boot, but no luck. The SSD works fine on other PCs. Any idea why this is happening?
Have you disabled fast boot as well? There is a power setting hidden in Windows that puts the drive to sleep but never turns off completely to speed up the boot process.
If you're talking about this, then yes I tried booting to the USB while it was disabled, but it still didn't work.
Anyone know what I should do?
I'm not that well versed in Surface Go land, but if I'm not mistaken it used to be that they required special kernels in order to get things functional. I'm wondering if maybe that's an issue that's going on here? I could be completely out to lunch on this one though, don't have any other ideas than possibly that.
Can you boot a live usb of some distro on the surface go?
