Zorin 18 and Zorin Connect

Hi Linux Zorin fans!
I'm new to the Linux Zorin world and have the following questions:
When Zorin 18 is released, will my previous Zorin 17.3 menu settings be carried over?
Unfortunately, I somehow destroyed Zorin Connect and it no longer works. I've tried all the fixes listed here, but to no avail.
I can't uninstall it either, and I haven't found a way to reinstall it...
Will Zorin Connect work again after upgrading to Zorin 18?
Or how can I fix it?

You could try

sudo apt install --reinstall gnome-shell-extension-zorin-connect

Hi, welcome to Zorin OS!

It's hard to say without knowing more about the issue. What exactly does "It no longer works" mean? It doesn't launch anymore, are there any errors showing up, etc?

Welcome to the Forum!

Then let's see. First try to uninstall it with:

sudo apt purge zorin-connect gnome-shell-extension-zorin-connect gnome-shell-extension-zorin-connect-browser

After that make:

sudo apt autoremove

to remove File Rests. BUT: Take a Look at the List of the removable Files before You delete them!

Then to install it again type:

sudo apt install zorin-connect gnome-shell-extension-zorin-connect gnome-shell-extension-zorin-connect-browser

If something of this shouldn't work, please post the Output of it here so we can take a Look at it.

I entered the command and it magically worked...I think I've entered the command before...It works. Thanks.

Regarding my other question regarding the upgrade to Zorin 18, will my menu settings be retained?

They should, yes. I don't think there are any major changes in Zorin Connect between Z17 and Z18.

Oh, with the Menü settings i mean Zorin Os, not Zorin Connect. 2 different questions... Thank you very much guys !

Oh, well, same answer the upgrade should retain all of your settings so no need to worry there. But I always recommend having a backup in place anyway, and upgrading the OS is always a good excuse to make one, if you don't have it already.
