Zorin 18 Core Touch Pad / Trackpad freezing

Touch pad continues to freeze after a few minutes of starting computer.

Using an Intel Mac.

Trialled several solutions -

  1. reinstalled Zorin 17 then 18 CORE
  2. used google search solutions with coding on terminal
  3. multiple restarts

Nothing is working. Also found that upgrading to Pro may not help.

surely Zorin can provide a software patch for this?

Does Your System run in Wayland or X11? You can check that with the Terminal Command echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

When it should show Wayland, You could try it with switching to X11/Xorg. To do that, go to the Login Screen. Click there on Your Profile so that the Passowrd Field appears. When it is appeared, You should see a Gear Icon in the bottom right Corner. click on it and choose the Option ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in.

To add to the excellent advice previously given, also make sure Secure Boot & Fast Boot are disabled in the BIOS.
