Ok, so my Zorin upgrade didn't work, after initial gnashing of teeth, i did a fresh install of Zorin 18 and am happy now 
The Upgrader is in Test Mode for now and in the Blog Post is mentioned:
This upgrade path is in early testing
Warning: This upgrade path is not recommended for production machines yet. Upgrading during the testing period may cause stability issues or breakages on your system.
It would be helpful when You could describe in Detail what exactly happened.

Hi Ponce, I changed my previous post, initially I was angry but I calmed down and did a fresh install. ok now. The crash was hideous though, the upgrade didn't work it stopped half way through but did something behind the scenes and when I rebooted I got a white screen with oh no, something has gone wrong with no apparent fix.
