Zorin 18 Pro help me to know

Hi all
after i install Zorin 18 Pro on another HDD (i another ssd i have windows 11) what i need first : drivers ? apps compatible only in Software app in Zorin i need to search ?
i have gigabyte z690, amd 6900xt, intel i7 12000
i see in BIOS ubuntu not Zorin OS ...
thank you

Welcome to the Forum!

That is correct because Zorin is based on Ubuntu.

Based on this:

You don't need at least Drivers for Your Grphics because AMd is included in the Kernel. Depending what Ethernet/Wifi Hardware You ave, it can be that You need to install extra Drivers. When it already rund all is fine. You can take a Look at the ''Additional Drivers'' Tab and check if there are already any Drivers offered.

You can use Program outside of the Software App. Compatible are .deb, Snap, Flatpak and AppImages.

where i find this ?

Hi and welcome.

Unless it has changed, start Software Updater, then click on 'Stop' button before it completes. Then click on 'Settings' button and an interface appears with 5 tabs. From memory, it should be the furthest on the right. While you have this interface open I would recommend that you click on the first tab and change from your country server to 'Main Server' as thr updates come quicker through using 'Main Server'. Still a work-in-progress, please take a look at the Unofficial Manual here:

Sorry, forgot to mentioned that. It is in Software & Updates.

Should I waste my time installing gigabyte control center, msi central, with wine or bottle? Will it work?

What do You want to use these for?

system light and fan, thank you

I wouldn't. WINE and Bottles are compatibility layers for the UI portion of the Operating System.
The motherboard is a different matter.

Instead, using OpenRGB or FanControl as native GnuLinux packages would serve just as well.

For openrgb i download this OpenRGB - udev rules ,double click, ctrl a, add in terminal, it is correct ?

That is an installer script - which running the script should be all you need. I have not installed that script; so I cannot vouch for each command it may need.

thank you, work ok but not start auto...

If the display is set to 4k and scaled to 150%, when I log in it is not scaled and everything is too small, can anything be done?

Take a look at this thread:

You can use the app gdm settings or copy the file as shown in the last post of the thread.

What else have I noticed and it is very frustrating, I have installed so far, Microsoft Edge as a browser, openrgb, fan control, all from Zorin Software (the app store), they all start very slowly first time (35-45 seconds) can anything be done or is this problem known?

terminal
sudo cp ~/.config/monitors.xml /var/lib/gdm3/.config/
restart (if need)
nothing...

Did you made the monitor settings first? Otherwise the file doesn't exist with the changes you want.

In which package format are the apps installed? When you choose Zorin apt (.deb) packages, they usually are better integrated into the system and work better than flatpaks or snaps.
Some packages are not always available as Zorin apt packages, then you can look at the website of the app if you find a .deb package to download.

e.g. here is a guide for edge browser

Are you running on Wayland or Xorg? It may help to switch to the other for testing. Logout and at loginscreen click on your username then a cog wheal appears at the bottom right corner. There you can switch between Xorg and Wayland.

Xorg and Wayland ?
i am in zorin 18 pro...

Xorg and Wayland are display server protocols which you can switch in Zorin 18 to test which one works better for you.
