I have Zorin 17 installed on both my desktop computer and my laptop.
When looking at the installed app store on both computers, I noticed that there are more apps listed when I am on the desktop than when I am on the laptop. Some of the apps I can get on the desktop but not the laptop include Think or Swim, Transcribe and Play It Slowly. I am sure there are others.
Anyone know why there is a difference between the two computers when they are both running Zorin 17? Any way to get the additional apps on the laptop?
You can check if the source of the package is the same. In the software store, select a package to install and open the drop-down menu right under the install button. There, you will see a list of sources available, which are: Flathub, Snapcraft and "Zorin OS".
These are just different package formats, but as Storm says it's possible one of your machines doesn't have access to either Flathub or Snapcraft, or both. To check for this quickly, launch a terminal and run:
which snap
which flatpak
If either of these commands return as "not available" it means you cannot install packages from that source.
