Zorin Backup "system image"?

I have used "Backup" but would like the saved file available on grub? One PC "loses it" and I have had to do several manual fsck restores.

I don't think that's possible.

Despite using Manjaro as my daily driver I never stumbled across that thread... though I do use a mix of Clonezilla and Vorta / Borg. Never thought about integrating the Clonezilla ISO into my grub instead of booting from USB though, that's a great idea!

You could set up time shift for some boot resiliency? I have backup setup for my files externally, and I have time shift, so if anything goes wrong, I should be covered on both fronts.

I specifically recommend against Timeshift. Unless something has changed in the last 12 months or so, it explicitly and intentionally does not allow you to set NAS or other remote shares as the storage location for backups - it checks the TYPE column in lsblk. Even if you mount a remote share to the default backup location (usually /timeshift) before ever running Timeshift, it saves to that folder on your current partition, somehow bypassing the mounted FS.

Last I checked, the developer publicly stated that was intentional and they had no plans or desire to change this behaviour.

Absolute madness. I don't trust the creator of a backup tool that openly declares remote backups as unnecessary. Even if a lot of users don't really consider remote backups necessary, someone working in the backup infrastructure space should know better and not specifically design their software to disallow remote backups on purpose.

I don't use any remote backups. I do use cloud storage for non-essential stuff. I mainly use Timeshift within /home. Rescuezilla for complete system backup, and external drive to backup critical /home files.

So I have now added the Clonezilla ISO to my grub and I'm not really a fan of the boot parameters in that Manjaro forum thread. They resulted in it displaying mirrored on all my screens, including the one I have in portrait which was trippy, and not filling out the full screen resolution but staying almost boxed in the top-left quarter.

The boot parameters from the official Clonezilla help page work much better, with it loading only on my primary monitor and using the full screen resolution.

https://clonezilla.org/livehd.php

I have also set my desired locale and keyboard layout in the boot parameters as explained on this page under the heading 10.2 Customizing locale and language:
