Hi Zoriners,
I hope you are doing good, I have a quick question, If you upgrade from Zorin 16 to Zorin 17 Core and you have a bunch of customization of the Cursor, Shell theme ... will that override all the customization after the upgrade?

X11 cursor themes should work just fine. They will be handled by XWayland
since Wayland cannot. Cursor themes are simple in general.
System themes, including Gnome Shell themes may not work. It is hard to say without a list of themes... But 16 uses Gnome 3.38
Whereas 17 uses Gnome 43.
..Yeah it is ummm... an interesting numbering scheme...
Themes that have not been updated to include GTK4 changes (and lots of removals...) have a high chance of breakage.
This can be further complicated by the introduction of LibAdwaita
which Gnome wrote into their Desktop Environment to perform a variety of tasks but also heavily seeks to create uniformity by adhering Gnome D.E. to Gnomes Adwaita themes.
This is because Gnome Developers really do not want users using themes. At all. They can't stand it.
And they felt the need to seize control over it.
And no... I will not even remotely be diplomatic about Microsoft Gnome.
If the Theme what Your are using already is made for GTK4 it should work. But the easier Way would be to change to a default Zorin Theme and then make the Upgrade.
