Zorin does not connect to the internet but there is a working adapter on the computer

i am trying to boot zorin from a usb and it works fine but it does not connect to the internet. I can connect to the internet in windows on the same computer the adapter has realtek 8188e chipset

Hi and welcome to the forum.
By booting from USB, do you mean the "Try ZorinOS" option from a Zorin bootable USB?

yes that is what i am trying before i wipe windows off the computer and permanently install zorin

For testing purposes?

To install: Extract the file and open a terminal in the extracted directory and run:

sudo make install
