Zorin menu lite

While we're on the subject of colors: I would much rather use a dark theme, and that's how I initially set it. However, when I installed Shutter or wanted to edit whisker menu, I couldn't recognize many icons on my screen in edit mode because they were black on black. Many other program windows were also difficult to read. Is there a way to set this so that the icons within programs and the control panels in the windows match the selected theme (light on dark and vice versa, but not dark on dark)? On the panel everything was fine when I selected as theme Adwaita dark and as icons Zorin dark blue but not in other programs.

@zenzen I read in a thread that it is also possible to use a dark taskbar and light windows (in Linux Mint XFCE you can choose this in the system). Does the specified command also apply to Zorin lite? I have not yet fully understood what is implemented of gnome in xfce.

"gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme ZorinGrey-Light"
and
"gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface icon-theme ZorinGrey-Light"

Or should it be something like "xfce4-appearance-settings set org.xfce4.desktop.interface icon-theme ZorinGrey-Light"?

Edit: I found out that this command does the same thing as selecting the desired theme and icons in the appearance settings. So I don't need a command for the terminal.

Nice :tada:

Now just increase the padding-right value bit more so that the icon don't get truncated from right side and appears properly.

Thanks for the tip! I hadn't even noticed that it was cut off.

You can launch Zorin Apperance and change themes and icons. Native apps follows the system themes. Maybe the Adwaita theme and Zorin-blue-dark icon are not a good combo. Try with different themes and use dark icon sets for dark theme and white icon for white theme for better results.

Task bar follows the system theme but also provide options to enable/disable dark mode and changing background color in it.

I've also tried Zorin dark blue theme and Zorin dark blue icons, but it's not better. The programs I have added do not work well with it. I have also not found a setting in the program itself to change this. I think I'll have to use light themes and icons that all buttons on the screen are easily recognizable.

Exactly, this what actually runs when use the graphical interface. Since you can then run these separately, you can control the look of the taskbar specifically.

Looks like I missed a lot of the replies here, did you get the issue with the menu sorted out?

Yes, everything is now as I wanted. The whisker menu opens with the Zorin button.
