Hello guys please a want to as if I can run zorin 16 on my old iPad 3 and any friendly Linux distribution . and will it still be fast if I run Linux on because my ram is 1 gb
Nah, I think the only way u can do it is by virtualizing it. Maybe other people have some ideas, but I don't think u can run it on metal.
Hi @KWARA,
I am not a linux expert (being using it less than a year now, although enjoying it very much), but I checked this forum, and couldn't find any posts about ipads running Zorin. Searching the internet, I found this site https://ipadlinux.org/
They share some distros under development, but nothing complete. One of the options described there is a Virtual Machine, as @Kedric suggested. I guess is the viable option for now.
Have you tried https://ipadlinux.org/ ?
I doubt Zorin OS will run fine on the iPad, but if you have the will and time, go ahead and try.
I suspect you might be on a hiding to nothing as there are only certain versions of iOS that will run GNU/Linux, and the fact you only have 1 Gb of memory would make it impossible to run a VM inside of iOS. On a desktop, you would need at least 8 Gb RAM to run a VM by allocating 4 Gb RAM to a VM for it to run smoothly.
You can not install linux on an ipad at this time there are some projects that are aiming to jailbreak ios devices for side-loading and full os replacement, and some that are trying to virtualize linux on ios devices.
