So i installed Zorin OS about a week ago and deleted windows, so now i only have zorin on my pc.
But i have this strange problem that when i boot my pc after it’s been shut down for the night, or when i reboot from desktop, it loads a black screen, then i have to physically reboot again with the reboot button on pc and on the second reboot it goes to zorin.
I disabled fast boot in bios.
secure boot is off
Also set in bios to boot from my only ssd which has zorin on it.
And still it looks like my pc searches for windows or god knows what to boot to instead of zorin, making me reboot physically again from the button.
Did you take a Look in Your BIOS if the is in the Boot List only an ubuntu Entry? and You could install GParted to take a Look at the Partitions for checking if there might be some survivals from Windows. You can install it with sudo apt install gparted or in the Software Store.
Is Your BIOS in UEFI or Legacy Mode? What Program did You used for creating the bootable USB Stick with Zorin on it? Did You used GPT for the Partition Sheme or MBR?
When You have this Black Screen: How long You wait until You reboot?
I wonder if Boot Repair would help sort this out for you.
If you have your Zorin install USB. Boot that and use "Try Zorin" mode.
From there, search "Boot Repair" and run that.
