Zorin OS 17.1 - intel graphics 4K driver

I am running a Lenovo ThinkCentre M72e with Zorin OS 17 and can't get my 4K monitor to work correctly.
I tried using xrandr, no luck.
My setup:
Lenovo ThinkCentre M72e, Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 2500 (IVB GT1)
monitor: LG 32UN88A-W running through a display port adapter (that's 4K capable) through HDMI to the monitor.

Any help is much appreciated!
If you guys need further hard/software information, let me know!
thanks!

AFAIK, xrandr only work with xorg and not wayland.

ok thanks, but this doesn't really help me.
how do I get my 4k display to work? thanks

No idea. I haven't 4k display as Linux has poorly support for 4k. (Blame the graphic card makers of that).

Do You can test it with a HDMI to HDMI Connection?

no I can't, the Lenovo only has VGA or Display Port outputs.
I am currently running a Display Port adapter through the HDMI cable to the monitor.

And Your Display Port can deliver a 4K Resolution? Maybe it doesn't like the Mixture of Display Port and HDMI. Even with an Adapter.

I have a HDMI to HDMI connection and 4K runs without Problems.
