Zorin OS 18.1 Web Apps does not allow selecting a custom icon for a Web App

i have been using zorin for the past 6 months and this bug has been present since then. Recently Zorin was crashing a lot so i though i might reinstall the OS and even after reinstalling this web app's bug "when selecting the icon, the icon does not appear " is still there. I also uploaded a video on youtube about the bug since there was no option to send video in the forum, here is the link. Plz watch it in low volume, my fan was a bit too loud.

I would appreciate you guy's help

Hello and welcome,
in terminal do that

echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

If you are in wayland, Switch to Xorg:

  • Logout
  • At the login screen, click your username (don't enter password)
  • Click the gear icon in the bottom right
  • Select "Zorin Desktop on Xorg"
  • Log in

and try if icons appeared

i already asked chat GPT about this problem he told me to switch to xorg and then try i already tried that 3 times. It does not work
