Zorin OS 18 installation walkthrough

I like that guys video's, he has a unique way of speaking, I suggest watching his video's in at least 1.2X speed. I do consider his video's an overview style, which to be honest, is usually enough for any beginner.

I appreciate the way he included the links to the Zorin website, in relation to their decision to switch to Brave browser, as well as, to see what Windows apps don't work in Wine, to help speed up the users time.

If I had that resource when I first started out on Zorin OS 9, it would have saved me a lot of time. The reality is, a lot of the proprietary garbage made for Windows, has a native Linux alternative, which is open source.

I still do wish he made more in depth reviews though, because many users need to know how to setup their WIFI, how to setup printers. And we know this is a thing, cause every week were getting asked such questions on the forum.

As I said, for an OS overview, I think he's great!

Hey @StarTreker you must have missed my dual-boot video. The Zorin part would still have worked for just installing Zorin.

Back in those days, StarTreker was sporting a two foot tall mohawk and wearing safety pin earrings.
Videos like that were for nerds!.

Mr. Barnatt is more into hardware components and filming how to build and connect small-board computers. He does niche (RISC-V) benchmarks, no one else does. From the comment sections of the videos, some people and their sons followed his instructions to build full desktop computers, he is more into future engineers and hobbyists than ... say, printers.

That seems to be true, I've come across those.

@Omnimaxus, You are in the Video (14:05). Now You will be famous, hahaha!

All in all, I liked the video, but 2 Things, I have missed:

  1. He uses Rufus but he didn't mentioned the Thing with the Partition Sheme Option for GPT and MBR.
  2. The Browser Thing: He installed Firefox as Flatpak but didn't mentioned, that Zorin created a Bypass to install it as .deb Version with adding the Mozilla Repo.

I would think that this would be 2 nice Additions for the Overview.
