The problem I'm having: When I click print from any software my computer locks up and it can take anywhere from 1 min to 4 min before I get the cursor back.
I don't recall this being that bad on 17. Is anyone else having to wait after you select print?
I don't think the printer matters, as this is happening when I had an HP Envy and also now with a Brother monochrome laser.
I feel like this is unacceptable to have to wait for a few minutes after pressing print.
Are you using Wayland or Xorg?

You could try changing to Xorg to see if any difference.
To switch to Xorg, first logout, then at login screen click on your username, but do not actually login yet. See a cog or gearwheel icon at the bottom right of screen. Use that to select "Zorin Desktop on Xorg". Then login normally.
When the system freezes, are you able to enter Ctrl+Alt+Del and get a system response?
System Monitor may reveal the specific unresponsive task.
