I posted something in the Past: The linked Article is in German. So maybe not the best for a primary English-speaky Forum. But I read it there. Ubuntu Core exists, too, yes. But how it is at the Moment, it is in my Understanding more for Industry Usage.

Rumors are rumors - and accuracy is the goal.
A rumor that claims that Ubuntu is swtiching to immutable and snaps only is false and inaccurate. That is only a rumor.

Even if the cause of the rumor is that Canonical wants to introduce an additional flavor of Ubuntu - alongside the current, that is immutable and Snaps only.
