Hello,
I can't even find the Zorin OS 16 lite download page. Would you know if a version of Zorin OS 17 lite is planned and if so when?

If not, has the project been abandoned?

They have even said that the current offerings (this was back when we were waiting on 17) will remain, but they are not exploring other DEs at the time. In short, Zorin OS Lite has not been discontinued or abandoned.
The Zorin 17 Lite build pieces have been recently added to the Zorin OS repositories.
