Zorin OS on M1

Hey,
i have a Question, can i install Zorin os core on a Macbook with the new Apple M1 Chip?

Julian

Apple M1 Chip is ARM Processor,Currently Zorin OS doesn’t support ARM Architecture

Not sure about this, but I was under the impression Apple wasnt going to allow booting Macbooks with the M1 chip to other OSs. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

If that is not the case, I have read here in the forum devs plan to release an ARM version of Zorin still this year.

There is no word on when the ARM version of Zorin will release. They are currently working on getting 16 to official release (currently in beta). It was mentioned that they were working on it but will have to keep watching the forum and zorin site for any time frame.

You can "sort of"

Well, they stated this in their System Requirements page:
Mac computers with Apple silicon processors are not currently capable of running Zorin OS natively.
Which means not yet. But, you could use a virtual machine. Zorin recommends UTM, which is free. If you have an iPhone, you could also install UTM too.

If your Mac is an Intel model, then, through Boot Camp, yes!
