Installed Whisper (Lorenze Paderi) 2 weeks ago with latest version of English Dictionary. Setup went smoothly, recognised Logitec Headset and connects ok on boot up. (Record) button on desktop works and records Audio file ok responding to voice level inputs . Have been unable to listen to the recording as there does not appear to be that option available? The main problem is that I have been unable to test 'voice to text, in Office Write. I am sure that the first time the app opened and I made a recording, it had an 'EXPORT' option that I selected and it immediately located a file in Write named 'Trial in Write of Typing' as the destination. This option is no longer shown? Need advice please, once this is fixed I think Zoren is going to be great to use.
I have no experience in the software you are using. I suspect the default location you state in your post might be a demo file (pure guesswork on my part). You should be able to choose a different path, so long as it is in the directories related to the application.
I would suggest a quick browse using the file explorer (Files aka Nautilus).
I would look in the following locations:
~/.local/share/applications
and
/usr/share/applications
The first directory might be easier to get to if you press Ctrl+ H to show hidden files in your Home folder.
To get to the second location you need to go up a level so click on 'Computer' in the left pane of Files (might have to select 'other locations')
Have just discovered that if I select one of the files with ctrl+S it brings up the EXPORT option>destination>I open the Office Write doc I am using> the curser offers a paste option when it opens. But will not paste anything or offer option for printing text? sure I am making a stupid error , appreciated if someone can point it out, simply not understanding the Linux Logic
Hi, I will have to take a look at this in due course. Hospital appointment tomorrow (later today!) so will have to wait.
