Hi. I installed Zorin OS 17.1 Core my second SSD recently. Also I am beginner. When I want to lock my computer and turn off the screen, my computer continues to work.
It shuts down when the battery runs out. How can figure out this issue?
Welcome to the Forum!
Did You checked the Settings in the Energy Tab in the Settings an under Privacy>Display?
I've had problems with suspension, which were resolved when switching between Wayland and X11.
It's worth a try.
- Log out or restart the machine.
- On the login screen, in the bottom right corner, click on Gear and change the selected option.
- In other words, select another option than the one already selected.
Check if this changes anything.
I couldn't see Gear when I try to login.
No I don't have this gear option
Do you know which graphics card you have?
Nvidia RTX 3050
I asked because maybe the Wayland option is removed if you have a Nvidia card which Wayland does not perform and X11 is the norm.
Maybe forum members with Nvidia can confirm if the Wayland/X11 switch appears on login screen for them or not.
I have integrated Intel and Nvidia card.
There is the option to switch between Wayland and X11, like in the image.
The X11 is exactly where I have a problem with the suspension. In Wayland this does not happen.
