I've been away for a while. I used to use Zorin, in fact I purchased Zorin Pro 16. How do upgrades work? If someone purchased the Pro license, and the next version comes out, do they have to purchase that as well? I had a license for Pro 16 a while back, so would I have to purchase Pro for 17, or is there a set number of upgrades we get included in the cost?

You would have to buy a new license for each new version, e.g. for Zorin 17 pro or Zorin 18 pro (it will soon be released). You can only upgrade within Zorin 16, 17 or 18, e.g. from 17.1 to 17.2 and then to 17.3, but not from 16 to 17 without bying a new license.
When will version 18 be out? I might just wait until then. I'd hate to spend the money for version 17 and then a few months later, I need to buy 18.

No exact date is known, but it will be released in this year.
I'll put it this way: You don't want to impatiently grab Zorin OS 17 Pro at this time.
You could simply use the Core Version until Zorin 18 is released.
