I found the latest Ubuntu and flavors etc. have climbed in memory usage for me for whatever reason. I like the fact that Zorin is still holding on to the minimalist approach without the expense of giving up regular desktop experience.
I turn off animations and take transparency off the taskbar for starters - personal preference but I do notice everything is beyond zippy at this point - if not lightning fast - even on old machines. Small footprint to start is a good start imo, I hope they keep this strategy going into the future.
Anyone else find Zorin still super fast in comparison?
Yes, me. Ubuntu used to be my go-to instead of anything that’s “based on Ubuntu” anyway. I never liked the too basic look of Linux Mint. Zorin is just perfect for me. I hope they continue to exist and be awesome for the foreseeable future, and I recommend people considering Zorin Pro even if just to support the people behind it.
