Hi Aravisian,
If Zorin 16 is nearing release then I am happy to wait and give that a try. Thanks for all your help.
I'll keep this post updated if I do find a solution in the meantime.

It may be April according to a Post made recently by Azorin.
My thinking is just that the newer kernel may be the way to go and Zorin 16 comes with 5.8.
Edit: My issue turned out to be the fingerprint sensor (Goodix)
I turned off fingerprint authentication, and I am good to go now.
Zorin 18 Pro, framework 13 Gen1. I am getting this as well. In fact, every version that I have purchased has this issue (16, 17, and now 18.)
When waking from sleep the computer wakes up, pauses for 5 seconds (including mouse movement), starts working for about 2 seconds, pauses for 5 seconds, works for 2 seconds, pauses for 5 seconds, then starts working normally.
There is never any other stutters, only when waking from sleep.
FW 13, Intel 1165, 64G Ram, WD SN850 1TB.
I purchase every version of Zorin to support the project. However, I normally use Fedora KDE or Kubuntu, as I cannot ever get Zorin to work flawlessly.
So, I never could get Zorin to respond properly. I thought it was the fingerprint sensor, but that turned out to NOT be the case. Anyway, I am back on Fedora 43, so no more updates from me. I will likely be back when I download Zorin 19 Pro in a couple of years.
