Zorin takes long time to restart

Hi guys,

zorin is taking long time to reboot/ restart after i type reboot in terminal ??

Slow boot or reboot - I would first check the logs for errors to see what is slowing things down. During boot, repeating an attempted operation takes time.

pls check… i copy paste details but file is not share…because it is in txd file

Seeing a lot of SNAP Package permission denied. This is a fault of Canonicals lousy Snap Package system that emulates Windows Installer.
The only solution I know of is to remove the snap packages and then reinstall those packages from .deb packages.

Linux Mint doesn't think much of it, either.

When Snap was introduced Canonical promised it would never replace APT. This promise was broken. Some APT packages in the Ubuntu repositories not only install snap as a dependency but also run snap commands as root without your knowledge or consent and connect your computer to the remote proprietary store operated by Canonical.

It comes as no surprise that Canonical broke that promise.
This is not new behavior.
They really are no better than Google, MS and Apple.

Another thing to look out for when installing software from er…“Software”.
I am now checking to see if it is a Snap, if so I avoid.

Honestly… I pretty much never use the Software channel at all. I install manually with
./configure
make
sudo make install

Or with
sudo dpgk -i .deb-name

Or with terminal. With terminal, I know it won’t be a flatpack or snap, since apt is the command I use, not snap.
For anything that gets beyond that, I will on rare occasion use Synaptic (I remove with Synaptic far more often than I install) where I inspect the details carefully.

We also seem to have drifted far off topic…
