Heya, long time no see.
Thinking about doing an upgrade soon to Zorin OS 18 Pro from 17 Pro, but I wasn't sure if upgrading would be a problem considering I have secure boot enabled and OS 17 installed via UEFI. Should I just do a clean install like I usually do?
Thanks.
I always prefer a clean install...
But being on UEFI and having Secure Boot should not interfere with the Zorin Upgrader tool.

I always preferred doing a clean install as well, just a matter of... I dunno laziness?
Reckon I'd have to setup the m-keys once again if I were to do a clean install again though hm?
No, you should not need to... But I do not use Secure Boot (I do not dual Boot with Windows OS), so I cannot speak from experience.
The MOK Keys are to enroll the user - but the certificates are not stored on the Zorin OS build.
Worst case scenario, you might have to re-enroll MOK. Annoying, not dangerous.

Ah, I don't dual boot either. I just like to have my security is all x3.
Hm... I remember the Zorin installer mentioning something about it, but aye like you said re-enrolling is annoying but not the end of it all x3
Many thanks.

You can try the upgrade to see if everything works well, and if you're not satisfied with the result, you can make a fresh install.
Personally, I'll do a clean install when something isn’t working as well as I’d like and I can’t fix it. As long as everything is working well, I’ll stick with it, because a clean install always involves a lot of work.

I could, but eh.
It was more of a curiosity than a definite plan. Thanks regardless.
Sorry, another thing that's not at all related to this topic. What in the world is this upgrade discount I read about? It's talked about in the bottom of the OS Pro page and says...
Future major versions — such as Zorin OS 19 Pro — will need to be purchased separately when they will be released in the future. However, you'll be able to upgrade to future major versions at a discount.
Where the hell can I get this discount because I've always paid full price for every new release. Not that I don't mind, it supports the developers after all, but XD
I believe there is a section that you enter the code from your previous Pro Purchase during the upgrade process.
Doing so should then apply the discount to the Next Pro release you are upgrading to.

Hmm... does this mean I wouldn't be able to do a clean install if I were to go this route?
If you do a clean install, then you must contact the ZorinGroup:
Scroll all the way to the bottom to "Request Pro Support"
In the contact form, list your previous and current Pro Codes and request the returning Pro user discount.

I do not like having to go and ask for a discount... so that would probably halt me LOL.
Filling out on an automatic form is not so bad.

I feel asking is a bit shameful if it's not automatically done, but with how the economy is these days...

In this Case, I would think disabling Secure Boot should be fine and avoiding Issues. I mean, yes. It is called ''Secure Boot''. But at the End Microsoft decides what is secure and what not.
