I completed updating my Zorin 17 OS. I got a prompt asking if I wanted to upgrade to Zorin 18. I chose Zorin 18.1 Core. It has been stuck on the "Installing the upgrades" for almost fours hours. I am afraid to do anything because I think that I may screw up my computer. Is there something wrong for it to take so long?

First, have you got any third party applications installed? This has been known to cause issues as has other 3rd Party Software Sources (PPAs).
Additionally, for Software Updater should be set to Main Server.
Do you have Timeshift installed? If you do, if closing the machine down causs issues on booting you could run Timeshift from a tty (terminal screen) at boot time using Ctrl+ Alt+ F2 through to F6.
Login with your user name, press Enter.
Enter your usual login password (note, you may not see any asterisks when you do this so be careful.
Then
sudo timeshift --restore
Then press enter. You should get a list of snapshots numbered [0] upwards, choose the highest number/closest date to when the system was last running OK.
Personally, when I was running Zorin I never used the upgrade path, always a fresh install. The only time I have done it was with MX-Linux xfce from 'patito feo' to 'wildflower' which needed a lot of commands to be entered in a terminal and it worked.
