Zorin's 15th Birthday!

Ladies and Gentlemen!

Zorin is 15 Years old! Congratulations! The Puberty is a difficult Age. Hopefully all will go well.

Interesting I find in this Case the Possibility to take a Look at older Zorin Versions. Especially Zorin 12 and 15 with this little Spike at the lower left Corner of the Startmenu is worth to take a Look at it for me.

Another interesting Point was about the Future. To quote this:

... From the expansion of our core team to the introduction of new products ...

So, they want to increase the Development Team? Do I understand that right? And ''new Products'' sounds exciting to me, too.

I hadn't seen this post in latest. Someone else posted about it separately to which I included the contents of the newsletter here:

15 years ago, on July 1st, Zorin OS had launched to the public with a purpose to make your computer better. I tried Zorin OS since version 17 came out, and I loved it as it became the only Linux OS to ever become my daily driver. Now, I might be late to the anniversary, but that doesn't mean I can't celebrate!

For this anniversary, I plan to do the following things to honor the legacy of our founders:

  • Make a YouTube video of me installing every version of Zorin OS ever existed (here's the thumbnail for those inclined:)

  • Make a wallpaper pack featuring Squarey and the Zorin OS logo.

  • Deliver an even bigger Zorin OS wallpaper pack than before

And finally...

  • Make Zorin OS my daily driver, considering I have been away from Linux for a while.

I would like to congratulate everyone who joined the Zorin OS train, and the ones who built the train (the founders, specifically), on their 15th anniversary!
Cheers to a new era!

P.S. Lemme know if you would love to see me try every Zorin OS release, just checking.

With all that cleared:

Thank you, for 15 years of a better Linux.

Celebrating 15 years of Zorin OS.
A message from our founders Artyom & Kyrill Zorin.
Zorin logo overlayed on a screenshot of Zorin OS 1.0
Today marks 15 years since the release of Zorin OS version 1.0 on 1 July 2009. This release was the proof of concept behind the goal of Zorin OS: to create a Linux desktop experience accessible to everyone. An operating system that's faster, more powerful, secure, and privacy-respecting, all while giving you back the freedom and control of your digital life. This has been the north star to guide our direction ever since.
By maintaining a clear focus on simplicity and continuously improving Zorin OS over the years, we've been able to manifest this goal into reality. Today, Zorin OS is a powerful computing experience that has been enjoyed by countless people in homes, schools, businesses, and governments around the world.
We're thrilled to say that the latest Zorin OS 17 release has reached over 1.3 million downloads & upgrades since its release six months ago. What's even more exciting is that over 78% of new downloads came from Windows and macOS users, reflecting our mission to bring the power of Linux to people who’ve never had access to it before. We’ve been overwhelmed by the terrific feedback we’ve heard from you and the press, with the latest Zorin OS featured in ZDNET, ExplainingComputers, and WIRED.
None of this progress could be possible without the help of you; the community. We want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you: from our very first users; to those who supported us with the Pro edition; to the volunteers on our forum; to everyone who spread the word of Zorin OS throughout the years.

The Zorin OS Archive

We've received many requests from the community for access to historical versions of Zorin OS. To celebrate this anniversary, we've created a way to go back in time and experience every release of Zorin OS since the very beginning.
This is the first time all historical versions of Zorin OS have been published for download in one place. This includes the little-known Zorin OS Limited Edition '09, which was previously only available to purchase on DVD during the Holiday Season of 2009.

The future

We believe the next 15 years will be even more incredible than the last. The future is bright!
As always, our core focus will be to continue making Zorin OS even better for the benefit of all.
However, we have big plans to take the original goal of Zorin OS even further. From the expansion of our core team to the introduction of new products that will broaden the reach of Zorin OS to many new kinds of users. We can't wait to share these developments with you over the coming months and years.

Once again, we want to thank every one of you for being part of this exciting journey together so far. Here's to the next 15 years!

Happy Birthday, Zorin OS! I have been enjoying this beautiful distro for a while now. Still get compliments when doing web meetings for our clients. As soon as I share my desktop, they are in shock that it is neither Windows, not Mac, but looks so much better than both.

Congratulations belatedly and since I started using it I've been passionate about it. So much so that I am part of and helped set up the Brazilian Zorin Os community. Thank you and continue this evolution

Bringing back the nostalgia in me! Here was my first attempt at a poorly written manual. It was meant to be a dual one, one for 6 plus one for 9 but never got round to the latter. A forum member on the Old Forum, GEWB, did an excellent job on 9, and he did it in poor health as I remember. When I find it I will upload it. Also included in the folder is Wolfman's post install guide which I had lifted from the old forum to share. Not sure if this was for 6 or 9 but some things still apply, but definitely not all!

I will upload GEWB's excellent manual for Zorin 9 once I find it. I will also try to find my old 12 manual!

Zorin 9 Manual by GEWB:

Unofficial Manual for Zorin 12.2 Core:

Here is the Greek version:

Here is the German version:

Here is the French version:

And the Italian version:

I can't seem to find the Spanish version which was created by a forum member from Argentina, which saved me a job!

Unfinished manual for Zorin 12 Lite - just around my eldest became seriously ill and eventually in the July of that year, in CCU.
