Zorins interaction with other NTFS drives?

I have successfully installed Zorin on a second separate drive, while windows is on another drive

I have booted into both OSes and they are both working. My question is now that I have plugged all my other hard drives back in (ie drives labelled in windows as D, E and F) what way will Zorin interact with those drives when I boot into it? (all NTFS of course).

I am under the impression that Zorin will not interact with them at all, thus not touching any data on them, unless I manually mount the drives? Though I believe that this could be distro specific!

I am completely new to Linux just in case anyones wondering.

Your impression is completely correct. You can think of other drives (Or even other partitions) as separate planets in a solar system.

It is possible to create communication between them; but they cannot and will not do it on their own.

However... Windows OS can communicate with your motherboard in some ways, that includes manufacturer updates or setting new settings in your BIOS. This is to be wary of.

I booted into Zorin with all drives connected and all is indeed well. Thanks!

Note: If you're a gamer and have Steam and games on one of the NTFS drives, it's no-no. They have to be on a Linux partition.
