Problem #1:
Desktop shortcuts are untrusted, and if I try to launch them, a message pops up telling me to right-click on the shortcut and then click "Enable "to allow launching.
The problem is that when I right-click the icon, I do not see that option. What am I doing wrong, or is my OS already broken? What should I do?
Problem #2:
Recently, it has happened that when I have "Virtual Box" with the virtual machine running, it sometimes makes the OS go slow and log off. It happens when I have a game that is slightly heavy; I have plenty of space in my disk, btw.
Take a look at this thread, maybe it can help you:
How much RAM do you have and how much RAM is allocated to the virtual machine?
It seems that your desktop shortcuts are games. Is steam installed as flatpak? If yes, you could try it with the .deb package of steam (search for 'steam-installer' in software store).
FIrst of all I saw and tried that method in that forum. It did not work so I think my OS is broken after I re install it. ALso I have 32 ram in total, the amount I gave to the VM in case you refer to base memory it is 22,882. Which now that I think about it I think it might be too much.
Host is Zorin 18 and guest is Windows 10 home and no, no games, it's a game engine actually azeroth control panel. But that's not the issue, is I have for example the VB alone it goes wel, but when I start it while playing in zorin it logs off same when I have the browser opened, maybe it's because I am the kind of person to have a ton of tabs. Do you think my os is broken?
I don't know, probably not. Do you have a Nvidia card? Are you running on Wayland or XOrg?
echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE
If you are on Wayland try to switch to Xorg. Logout and at login click on your username then a cog wheal appears at the bottom right corner. There select "Zorin Desktop on Xorg".
Hm, I'm not sure what the problem is. Does it work when the virtual machine is paused or turned off? Then it could be due to overload. 10 GiB for gaming in gnome are not much. Which Nvidia driver do you use? What hardware do you have (brand, model)?
Check if it is a problem with powersaving and turn off automatic suspend/screen locking for testing.
Does the computer shut down/reboot or are you only logged off from the gnome session?
On Right-Click, you have the Option ''Properties''. Click on that. And in the opening Window, You should see at the Bottom a Toggle what You can activate to make it executable.
